...and Me
Published on July 4, 2004 By Flaming_Rose In Misc
I took my purse with me that day. Inside, it had two Snapple caps, a pack of hand wipes, and a wallet.
Inside the wallet, there were 3 dollars, a library card, a rec center card, a phone card, and a bunch of loose change.

When I left that day, I had 2 dollars, a couple of coins, and all those cards in the wallet. I had a King-Sized 3 Musketeers bar in the purse, along with all that other stuff.

What a hassle it was! It was just an ordinary evening, I had gone out shopping at Walgreens to get some stuff. And my dad wanted a 3-Musketeers bar. Being the lightheaded girl I was at that moment, I promised to get it. Well, when I got there, I disappointed a lot of people. In fact, the only person I managed not to disappoint was Dad. Because breaking promises gives me an incomplete feeling, and because I only had 3 dollar bills. Now, I picked up the candy bar, a lipgloss, and a magazine, waited in checkout line, plopped the items on the counter, watched them being scanned.

"6.72."

I said, "Um, I don't really need the magazine." She put it on the rack.

"3.22."

"Um, I don't need the lip gloss either."

"1.19."

I placed my two dollar bills on the counter, pocketed the change and the candy bar, and left with a mix of anger and tears.

I walked down to the corner store, hoping they would have something for me. But all I could afford was one of those teenybopper fashion magazines, and I don't care about the latest fashions. Besides, it would leave me with one cent.

All I got done there was trading in 4 quarters for a dollar bill.

Look for the sequel tomorrow to see what else happened to me.
